Your First Session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Our first session is simply a space to begin—getting to know each other, understanding what brings you here, and identifying your hopes for therapy.

A Quiet, Safe Space

The True Self therapy room is designed to be calm and grounding. Whether you need to talk, reflect, or just be, our sessions will honour what you need.

How This Helps

Many people feel stuck because emotions are stored in the nervous system, not just in thoughts. I integrate neuroscience, somatic and talking therapy to create real, lasting change.

What You Might Experience:

Engaging in therapy can lead to numerous positive outcomes, including:

  • Recognizing and breaking unhelpful patterns in relationships: therapy helps identify and modify detrimental behaviours, fostering healthier interactions.

  • Establishing healthier boundaries and gaining confidence to say 'no': developing assertiveness and boundary-setting skills enhances self-respect and relationship quality.

  • Feeling more at home in your body: integrating mind-body awareness can reduce feelings of disconnection, promoting a sense of wholeness.

  • Transitioning from survival mode to thriving: therapy supports moving beyond mere coping, enabling a more fulfilling life.

  • Gaining insight into nervous system responses to stress: understanding physiological reactions will facilitate effective stress management.

  • Increasing awareness of bodily sensations and emotions: enhanced self-awareness leads to better emotional regulation.

  • Experiencing relief from feeling stuck or overwhelmed: therapeutic interventions can alleviate persistent feelings of being trapped or inundated.

  • Acquiring practical tools to regulate emotions and create balance: learning coping strategies foster emotional stability and overall well-being.
